I loaded up the family and we all went to BrickFest last weekend. Last year I really wanted to go but never made it. This year I made sure we went! BrickFest is a Lego Con of sorts. I really didn't know what to expect.
The space was large and not overcrowded with booths or people. There wasn't a very large crowd which was nice with a toddler in tow.
Right when we walked in there was a giant table filled with a Lego town and lots of other builds. It was pretty amazing and I wonder if they kragled them? The little amusement park was my personal favorite. The kids loved it too because when you push a button the rides move!
We then went over to the giant pool of red Legos. I cringed as I saw kid after kid diving into the jagged plastic.
The Lego derby was by far the funnest activity. You make your own Lego car and then race it with others. My oldest son won our race and he was beeming :)
My family spent a lot of time building onto the cities. It was like a community art project. Anyone can build whatever they want and add it to the piece. I wish I had seen it at the end of the day.
There were a few more things to do but we needed to leave. I would say it is worth going to if you have a Lego lover. The price on my tickets said $25 which I think is a bit much. I know the tickets were on groupon at some point so I will be looking for that next year.
